Mutiny on the Bounty (1935). Recently selected as one of the top 100 American films, with Captain Bligh selected as one of the 50 Greatest Villains of all time by the prestigious American Film Institute, this eight-time Oscar-nominated adventure classic won Best Picture. Starring Oscar-winner Charles Laughton (“The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Witness for the Prosecution”) as the sadistic Captain Bligh, who drove his men to commit mutiny during a lengthy South Seas expedition to Tahiti. Co-starring Oscar-winning legend Clark Gable (“Gone With the Wind,” “It Happened One Night”) as the leader of the rebellion. With Oscar-winner Donald Crisp (“How Green Was My Valley”). Laughton, Gable and co-star Franchot Tone (“Advise and Consent”) all received Oscar-nominations. Based on a true story.
